Mountain View, Kentucky, has announced it will open a brewery and brewpub at the Rockford, Arkansas, landmark Mount St. Helens.
Mountain View is one of five breweries in the United States to open this year.
The other two are Inman Brewing in Texas and Golden Gate Brewing in California.
Inman Brewing owner Steve O’Brien said the new brewery, at 1235 Summit Road, will be the second in the Rocky Mount area, and he said it will be called “The Rockford Brewing Company.”
“We are excited to join our hometown and have our home on the National Register of Historic Places,” he said in a statement.
“Rockford, a small town in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, has become synonymous with brewing.
We will be opening a new facility to bring the creativity and experience of Rockford to the national beer scene.”
The Rockfords brewery will be open from March 1 to August 30, with taproom hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and a taproom will open at the beginning of October.
Rockford is located on the western edge of the mountain.
Rockford has become an important tourist destination, with visitors arriving in droves every year, especially during the winter months.
